About the imprint

A small press with a specific point of view.

We publish work that helps readers notice.

CTRL+ALT+Press exists because the questions we’re wrestling with as a culture — about attention, intimacy, the inner life under algorithmic pressure, what we owe our children, what we owe ourselves — deserve books that can hold their weight.

We’re a small literary press based in Santa Fe, New Mexico. We publish across genres — trade nonfiction, essays, the occasional novel — bound together not by category but by sensibility. The work we want to publish takes technology seriously without surrendering to it, takes consciousness seriously without flinching from rigor, and treats readers as people who can hold complexity.

We move at the pace of the book. Some titles take a year to develop; some take five. Every book gets the editorial attention, design care, and post-publication advocacy that books used to get when publishing was smaller. We are small on purpose.

We are not currently open to unsolicited submissions. We expect to be eventually. When we are, the page that says so will live here.

A note from the founder

Why this imprint exists.

I founded CTRL+ALT+Press to publish work that wouldn’t survive the modern publishing funnel intact — my own first, others over time.

Twenty-five years in cybersecurity taught me that the systems we build shape the people who use them, often invisibly, often in directions no one intended. The questions that follow from that observation are the ones I care about most: about presence, about agency, about what it means to be a person in a system designed to monetize your attention. Those questions are most of what I think about now.

The first book is one I had to write. The next several are ones I wanted to give a home that wouldn’t rush them, dilute them, or hand them to an algorithm to figure out who they’re for. Eventually, I hope to publish other writers whose work fits this stance. For now, this is the start.
